A decade after its original release, the Air Jordan 1 High OG Shattered Backboard is set to return in 2025, coinciding with the 40th anniversary of the AJ1.
Originally dropped in 2015, the “Shattered Backboard” colorway pays tribute to Michael Jordan’s performance during a Nike-sponsored exhibition game broadcast in Italy in 1985. This memorable moment was highlighted by an incredible dunk that shattered the glass backboard. This narrative was depicted on the AJ1 ten years ago and is now ready to make a comeback in 2025. Inspired by the jersey of Stefanel Trieste that Michael Jordan wore during the game, the sneaker features sections of black, white, and orange leather. The new version is expected to retain the original color blocking while altering the materials used. Additionally, the design may be part of the “Reimagined” series created by Jordan Brand, where some classics are reissued with a twist, although this remains to be confirmed.
