In order to provide Americans access to the cozy sheepskin boots that were commonly seen in Australia, Australian surfer Brian Smith and his partner Doug Jensen developed it. Ever since, the firm has transformed the style of comfort footwear and substituted petroleum-based EVA with renewable materials like sugarcane grown by rainfall. The monotone look of the shoe is further enhanced by the white and sand plaid laces, which are composed of recyclable materials. The outside heel and tongue are branded with the UGG logo.
