Nike Kobe 5 Protro Jalen Brunson NY vs. NY PE

Description

The Nike Kobe 5 Protro NY vs NY is one of the most culturally charged Kobe releases of 2026, born directly from one of the most dramatic moments of the NBA postseason. Jalen Brunson debuted this colorway on his feet during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, leading the New York Knicks back from a 22-point deficit with under eight minutes remaining in one of the most memorable comebacks in Madison Square Garden history, giving the shoe an on-court story before it ever hit a retail shelf. The Menta upper draws an immediate comparison to the Statue of Liberty, that recognizable mint green reading as a full tribute to New York City, while Blue Glow lands on the Swoosh logos and branding to reinforce the citys basketball identity. Orange Horizon accents and splatter detailing across the forefoot and heel tie the whole colorway to the outdoor court culture that defines New York summers, referencing Nikes annual NY vs. NY high school basketball tournament. The Kobe 5 silhouette remains one of the most beloved basketball shoes ever made, celebrated for its low-cut profile, responsive cushioning, and the fearless aesthetic that Kobe Bryant and designer Eric Avar built into every detail of its original 2010 construction. The Protro update carries all of that forward while adding modernized performance tech under the hood, making this a shoe that hoopers can genuinely ball in at the same level fans will want to collect it. The crossover between a legitimate NBA Finals moment, a player wearing the Mambas signature, and a colorway built to celebrate one of basketballs greatest cities makes the NY vs. NY one of those rare releases that earns meaning before it even arrives on shelves. The Nike Kobe 5 Protro NY vs NY was released on August 4, 2026 with a retail price of $190.
