The Vans LX Classic Slip-On 98 Act of Disagreement Black Checkerboard reworks Vans familiar laceless shoe through its collaboration with Slam Jam. Contrasting checkerboard canvas panels give the pair an uneven look, while frayed edges and distressed marks make the shoes appear worn in. The treatment carries onto the sidewalls, where the checkerboard pattern looks intentionally incomplete. Elastic side panels preserve the easy on-and-off fit associated with a Slip-On. A padded collar, foam insole, and rubber waffle outsole complete the construction beneath the more experimental upper. The mix of black and checkerboard makes the pair recognizable as Vans, but the rougher finish gives collectors something specific to the Act of Disagreement release. It is a shoe that treats wear and imperfection as part of the design. Released on September 10, 2026, the Vans LX Classic Slip-On 98 Act of Disagreement Black Checkerboard retailed for $90.
