The Asics GT-2160 Above The Clouds represents a collaboration between the renowned sneaker company and the Australian boutique retailer. The result is a sleek running shoe inspired by the GT-2000s circa 2010. The Above The Clouds x Asics GT-2160 features a lightweight upper with a base of translucent NEXKIN on the vamp and forefoot and white mesh on the midfoot and collar. Synthetic leather overlays course across the upper in shades of dark green, foam green, and silver. A synthetic brown heel counter adds support and sits just below the GEL branding. The green mesh sock liner is padded at the heel for comfort. Aqua blue insoles feature dual branding. GT-2160 branding appears on a pale green overlay on the lateral heel. We particularly enjoy the segmented sole unit of this running shoe. Gel inserts in the foam midsole under the forefoot and heel provide ultimate cushioning while a rubber outsole provides a multi-surface grip. The Asics GT-2160 Above The Clouds was released on October 13, 2023, for $150 retail.
