Considering Miami to be his second home, Ronnie Fieg created the Ronnie Fieg x ASICS Gel-Lyte III „Miami Beach“ to pay tribute to his home-away-from-home. Released in May of 2013 for a retail price of $145, the Miami GL3 was composed of micro-perforated nubuck overlays against a mesh toe box with 3M reflective ribboning under the ASICS stripes through the mid-foot. By choosing mesh for the GLIII toe box, RF gave wearers the ability to continue with their active lifestyles in one of the most bustling cities in the world, while also offering them the ability to be both comfortable and fashionable. Donned in a Dolphins color-scheme, the Miami Gel Lytes became celebrated not only by sneaker enthusiasts but football enthusiasts as well. Extremely sough-after and hard to purchase at their release, the Miami GEL-Lyte 3 dropped alongside the „New York City“ GLIII as part of the East Coast Project. Ronnie Fieg also collaborated with some of his favorite brands to create matching apparel and accessories as part of his introductory ECP pop-up Kith experience in Miami. Today, the Ronnie Fieg x Asics Gel-Lyte III „Miami Beach“ continues to be a prized sneaker for some and a widely-hunted sneaker for most.
