Jordan 5 Retro El Grito Sail

Description

The Air Jordan 5 Retro El Grito Sail celebrates the vibrant heritage and history of Mexican independence. Inspired by the El Grito de Dolores, the famous call to action by Father Miguel Hidalgo on September 16, 1810, this sneaker pays tribute to Mexico s fight for freedom. The sail leather upper is intricately laser-etched with cultural symbols on the heel panel, tongue, and mudguard. The laces feature custom lace tags that read “VIVA,” and the lacelocks incorporate red and green accents, honoring the colors of Mexico s flag. The Jordan 5 has long been celebrated as one of the most iconic sneakers in the Air Jordan line. First introduced in 1990, the Jordan 5 was designed by Tinker Hatfield and is known for its fighter jet-inspired midsole and reflective tongue. This El Grito edition adds another layer of cultural depth to the model, with its meaningful references to Mexican history, making it a standout release in 2024. Released on September 12, 2024, the Air Jordan 5 Retro El Grito Sail retailed at $210. With its sail, coconut milk, pine green, and dark pony colorway, this unique sneaker fuses history, tradition, and Jordan Brand heritage into a one-of-a-kind design. A must-have for those looking to add cultural significance to their sneaker collection.
