The ASICS Gel-NYC Oatmeal Obsidian Gray is a technical running shoe that finds inspiration in heritage models from the ASICS catalog.The upper is made of breathable mesh in Oatmeal and has a construction that resembles the GEL-NIMBUS 3, a technical sneaker from the early 2000s. Featuring crisscrossing overlays on the side panels, the upper also takes cues from the MC-PLUS V. Dark suede panels in Obsidian Gray form mudguards and eyelets that contribute to the sneaker s retro aesthetic. However, the gel and foam midsole add a contemporary element. This midsole is similar to the one installed on the GEL-CUMULUS 16 and provides more responsive cushioning than its predecessors.Our Newsole experts like the way the gel pods in the midsole look like bubbles and remind the wearer of the shoe s lightweight construction. The ASICS Gel-NYC Oatmeal Obsidian Gray was released on May 2nd, 2023, and retailed at $130.
